Garena's Garena premier league (GPL) was launched in May 2012. It is a professional online game that spans up to six months and has more than 100 games. The initial season of GPL includes an League of Legends competition which comprises six professional teams. Teams are composed of some of the most talented players in their respective countries. GPL games as well as commentaries are broadcasted online. Fans can stream GPL games and commentaries through the GPL website. In the month of January, Garena confirmed it was launching the Garena Premier League's second season would begin on January 4, 2013. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams new from Taiwan as well as Vietnam adding the total amount of teams up to eight. The teams are: AHQ (Asia), Saigon Fantastic Five (Saigon Jokers), Bangkok Titans (Bangkok), Kuala Lumpur Hunters(Kuala Lumpur), Manila Eagles(Manila) The Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. It is the Garena E-Sports Arena, an esports facility has been opened since November 2014 in Neihu District of Taipei. The studio opened in November 2014 in time for the opening of the League of Legends Masters Series. It is the premier LoL Taiwanese as well as Hong Kongese and Macau LoL League which is a spin-off of the GPL. Garena started in the Iron Solari League in January 2015. The Iron Solari League is the League of Legends women's tournament that is held within the Philippines. It is a monthly event organized in the second half of every month. This event aims at encouraging participation by communities that are underrepresented and is open to any women who identify as an under-represented group. Garena does not just organize tournaments but also organizes offline gatherings and social events that enable users to meet. This includes Garena's annual Garena Carnival held in Singapore as well as Malaysia.
